Pray for the street kids in Petion-Ville

As some of you know we started schooling (literacy and Bible) some of the streets kids a couple of months ago. The teachers are doing a great work. The enemy is also at work and this week one of the students was stoned to death while trying to steal from a small store. He was one of the smartest ones. We covet your prayers for them so they can be strong as God is teaching them who they are in Christ. The other students are very discouraged at this time.

A day full of blessings

1. _ My son Roby Poteau arrived today after 2 years of Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrietta, CA. He has not been to Haiti since he was 2 years old, he is now 19. His first stop from the airport was the church where a Bible Study was awaiting me. He took my place and spoke on the love of God Colossians 2:1-3, Matthew 22:37-40 and 1 Corinthians 13.

2._ IBS ended this morning. Edy Gehy has been teaching it for several Saturdays. Let's pray that the leaders who came, from our church and 2 other churches, put what they have learned into practice to equip the body for ministry. We had over 40 participants.

3._ 8 believers obeyed God's command to be baptized. What a wonderful feeling to be part of what the Lord is doing here.

Jim Ross is not feeling good

Dear brothers and sisters, we apologize for not updating the blog these past few days. Our leader, Jim Ross, who has been doing a great job helping with the blog had to go back home to Kansas for health reason. Please lift him up to the Lord Jesus-Christ in prayers.
We will do our best to keep you up to date with what God is doing in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, through Calvary Chapel.
We praise God for adding one more soul to the kingdom as Ruth who has been coming to computer classes for a few months now gave her life to the Lord. Please keep her in your prayers as the devil will try to lure her back to her former life. She is a young unwed, not working mom, with no help from the child's father. As we learned last Wednesday in Genesis 18:14 "Is anything too hard for the Lord?". Of course the answer is NO.
May God bless you and we love you.

May 1st Holiday

May 1st is an official holiday in Haiti. Accordingly, we cancelled classes for the day and had a chance to take a break and enjoy some different activities for the day. Classes will resume again on Saturday, God willing.

Edy and Elsie Return

On Wednesday Edy and Elsie returned from a couple of weeks in the U.S. It is very good to have them back. The ministry load seemed to be especially heavy during their absence. Edy plans to share with the church about his trip on Sunday morning.

Calvary in the City Team Leaves

The Calvary in the City Team from Boston left on Monday morning. There were rumors that there would be more unrest in Port-au-Prince that morning so we had a contingency plan to get the group to the airport early. But as it turned out, everything was business as usual and the group left as scheduled except for a short flight delay. We are very thankful for the way the Calvary group blessed the church here during their visit.
